About this event

The music program at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 3 Bayview Ave in Belvedere presents "A quiet afternoon of reflection and remembrance" on Sunday, November 2 at 4 p.m. The centerpiece of the concert is the Requiem of Maurice Duruflé, performed by the St. Stephen's Choir, orchestra, and organist/conductor Dr. Brad Schultz.

"In many sacred circles, the first weekend of November is reserved for remembering those who have passed away in the previous year, and the St. Stephen's community has lost some dear friends in recent months," says Schultz, who also serves as minister of music. "Music has the power to be such a healing force, not only when we lose someone close, but in all those times when we need a moment to refresh and recharge." In addition to the Requiem, the program will include Frank Ticheli's "Earth Song," an organ arrangement of Claude Debussy's "Clair de Lune," and "Peace Piece," by Bill Evans.

The concert, which should last no longer than 90 minutes without intermission, is presented as part of the St. Stephen's Concert Series and is offered as a gift to the community with no admission charge. A suggested $20 donation received at the door helps to ensure the continuity of the series. For more information, please visit www.ststephenschurch.org.
