The Colorado Department of Local Affairs' Division of Housing invites you to a two-day workshop to introduce you to the process of affordable housing development. The Developer's Toolkit is an engaging IN-PERSON training that will be held June 4 and 5, 2025 in Loveland. The class will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day.
Through a series of exercises, participants will work in teams to solve the housing challenge facing a typical Colorado city. Hands-on exercises will provide working knowledge of the critical steps necessary to develop an affordable rental housing community.
YOU WILL LEARN:
- The process for developing cost-effective, high quality housing
- How to select contract service providers
- Real estate terminology
- Cost-containment techniques
- Strategies for negotiating with the team and community players
The training format requires attendance and participation on both days of the class. All course materials will be online, so please bring your laptop computer or tablet with Excel software. Please bring a refillable water bottle to minimize plastic bottle waste.
