The Creature Crypt is a pop up art gallery by artist Hadi Salloum at Mad Arts. The gallery will feature four prominent portraits of different Florida animals: the West Indian Manatee, American Crocodile, Florida Scrub Jay, and the now extinct Florida Black Wolf. The animals selected have faced varying levels of success due to human interference and habitat loss, ranging from completely extinct to a population that is back on the rise. The Creature Crypt will serve as a living memorial for these animals, and is intended to mimic a memorial service for the deceased. This one-night reception hosted by Mad Arts will feature the pop up gallery, light bites and beverage, and live VJ sets by Noir Age and Chrolik.
