The Crafty Chapter Stoke

By Tasha Davis

Overview

Join us for few hours of creativity & connection! Hot and cold drinks and biscuits provided. Meet. Make. Mingle. And try something new!

Join us for another crafty chapter catch self care Saturday!

You'll find us at Weston Heights Community Centre which is next door to the Weston Infants School and is the perfect space for a Self Care Saturday!

There's a large room that will have various different tables set up for you to get crafty with some of our experts, try things out for yourself or you can bring your own crafts with you.

There's also a small separate space for those who need some peace and quiet or want to read.

So what is The Crafty Chapter?

It's an idea born of a love of both reading and crafting for self care. The world is a heavy place right now so self care is more important than ever but it can be difficult to find time with all of our responsibilities. So I figured the best way to help with that is to give you time and space to do what you love without those responsibilities getting in the way!

SO WHAT'S AVAILABLE?

We're giving you both the time and space to try different things so that you can make as well as mingle!

  • Crochet expert to show some simple patterns and stitches or chat to about your current project
  • Learn the Zentangle method of mindful drawing
  • Jewellery making supplies
  • Lots of different craft supplies so that you can let your creative juices flow
  • Lose yourself in some positive affirmation colouring pages and journal pages
  • A small quiet space for those who want some peace and quiet to read
  • Small craft project that you can make and then take home with you

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING WITH YOU?

Whatever you want to read and in whatever format.

Any craft or hobby you want to get stuck into.

Any blankets or pillows you want to help get you comfy and cosy.

Noise cancelling headphones if you're sensitive to noise or prefer to read in total peace and quiet.

Please also feel free to bring any bits and bobs for crafting that you think others might enjoy too.

Snacks and / or food for lunch as only biscuits will be provided.

If you want to bring anything else and you're not sure, drop me an email: thecraftychapterstoke@gmail.com

The community centre are always happy to take donations too so if there's any books, games or crafts you'd like to donate, feel free to bring those too!

NEURODIVERGENT FRIENDLY

Just to add that the event will be neurodivergent friendly as I'm neurospicy myself.

If you need noise cancelling headphones, fidget toys or comfort items, then bring them!

I do have a small selection of fidget toys that you can borrow on the day if needed.

But we're a judgement free zone and encourage you to bring whatever makes you feel comfortable.

FOOD AND DRINKS

Hot drinks, juice and biscuits will be provided.

We will be stopping for a lunch break so please feel free to bring lunch along with you as there is a small fridge available.
