About this event

On Sunday, January 21, 2024 from 3 PM - 4:30 PM, Trinity Spiritual Center will host a panel discussion focused on the Middle East.

This dialogue will be led by Rabbi Steve Gross, Rev. Canon Nicholas Porter, and Imam Bilal Ansari. These three spiritual leaders, with great depth of experience and expertise in the Holy Land, will explore the differences in their perspectives, the very real stumbling blocks to peace, and whether there are any approaches or methods that could advance all parties forward.

It is the intention of these leaders to demonstrate through their discussion how listening with curiosity and open hearts in a safe, neutral space can achieve a quality of discourse that is more direct and open-minded than is often heard in public forums. It is their hope that their dialogue that might provide a glimpse of the kinds of discussion that could ultimately produce a path forward.

Although these three religious leaders serve on the Board of Jerusalem Peacebuilders, an interfaith, non-profit organization whose vision is a “world where Jews, Christians, Muslims, and Druze live together as sisters and brothers in dignity, equality, and peace,” they have not yet attempted to have this kind of conversation. The panel discussion will therefore be not only an informative exploration of the issues but an illustration of the ways in which we can engage in dialogue even when there are disagreements among us.

Please note that participation in this event will be in-person only and pre-registration is required.
