Overview

This session explores the stages of the Conflict Cycle™.

This session explores the stages of the Conflict Cycle™.

In OST, a conflict cycle can begin unexpectedly based on the stress that both children/youth and adults bring into an interaction. These interactions can trigger stress responses in one another, creating a cycle that, if unbroken, may lead to escalation, impulsive actions, and even crisis. Participants will examine the components of the conflict cycle and explore possible adult responses and strategies that may break the ‘cycle’ before it escalates.

*Conflict Cycle is a trademarked concept from Life Space Crisis Intervention (LSCI): Life Space Crisis Intervention, Inc. (n.d.). The Conflict Cycle™.
