The Clinician’s Retreat
Rest as Responsibility: The Ethics of Self-Care When the World is on Fire
Join us for this 2-hour CE workshop & receive 2 CE credits!
As clinicians, we are trained to prioritize the care of others often at the expense of our own well-being. Yet, in times of collective harm, crisis, and prolonged stress, the imperative to “keep it moving” can create ethical tensions begging the question: What happens when our capacity to care is compromised by burnout, exhaustion, and our own distress?
This workshop invites clinicians to explore the ethics of self-care — not as a luxury, but as a professional responsibility. Together, we will examine questions such as:
- What does it mean to practice ethically during times of collective and/or personal unrest?
- How do we navigate the tension between duty and depletion?
- In what ways can self-care be reimagined as a sustainable practice in service of ourselves and our clients?
Participants will also engage in guided reflection, group dialogue, and wellness activities designed to enhance their capacity to show up for others from a place of overflow, not lack.
This event is open to all clinicians. Sign up for this APA-Approved Continuing Education* workshop today!
This workshop will be led by Dr. Natalie Watson-Singleton, PhD.
