The Cleveland Psychoanalytic Center presents: Analytic Flicks
Overview
The Cleveland Psychoanalytic Center welcomes you to Analytic Flicks, a film discussion group centering psychoanalytic thought. All are encouraged to join. No psychology or analytic experience needed.
Please watch the movie prior to the event and join us for the discussion.
Mulholland Drive, written and directed by David Lynch, is the story of Betty, a young Midwestern girl’s (Naomi Watts) journey to achieve her dreams in the City of Angels. Upon arrival, she finds Rita (Laura Harring), an amnesiac woman. The mystery unfolds as Betty traverses LA with Rita seeking answers to her memory loss. A surrealist film, often compared to a dream, Mulholland Drive invites a psychoanalytic discussion.
Join us for another iteration of Analytic Flicks as Valentino Zullo, Assistant Professor of English at Ursuline College and an advanced candidate in psychoanalytic training at the Cleveland Psychoanalytic Center, discusses the film that in 2016 topped the BBC’s “21st Century's 100 greatest films” list.
