On the road to the Climate Conference in Paris (COP21), the Embassy of France in the United States will host a World Wide Views' conference on October 22 entitled "The Citizen between Science and Policy: Innovation in Governance and Climate Change Resilience." This conference will present the results of the largest-ever public study on climate and energy. The event will be followed by a reception featuring the DC Climathon finalist and a film screening of Oscar winning Luc Jacquet’s ICE & SKY
The conference (3:00 - 5:00)
On June 6, 2015, beginning at dawn in the Pacific Islands and ending at dusk in the American Southwest, 10,000 everyday citizens in 76 countries met to participate in this World Wide Views on Climate and Energy, to help inform, empower, and influence the negotiations leading up to the Climate Conference in Paris (COP21).
On October 22, 2015, we will present and discuss the key results and policy implications of this unprecedented citizen engagement study.

The Embassy of France in the United States is proud to present La Glace et le Ciel (Ice and Sky) by Luc Jacquet, in Washington, DC, during the same week as its official release in France.This eco-documentary was selected as the closing piece of the 2015 Cannes Film Festival. La Glace et le Ciel tells the incredible story of glaciologist Claude Lorius, who was the first scientist to demonstrate the impact of human activity on our climate, through his study of Antarctic ice.
Free event. The film will be screened in French with English subtitles.
