About this event

Health • Mental health

Join us for a special DC Art Science Evening Rendezvous retreat that brings together ancient healing traditions and contemporary scientific insights.

To retreat is to step back into a space of reflection and renewal. Through a mix of talks and experiential practices, this program offers a holistic perspective on health and well-being. Participants will be invited to take part in breath-based sound exercises and communal storytelling—activities shown to reduce stress, foster resilience, and support inner balance.

We will hear from experts in integrative medicine and sound healing who will share how time-honored wisdom, and modern science can work in tandem to awaken our innate capacity for healing and inspire new pathways to vitality.

About DASER

DC Art Science Evening Rendezvous (DASER) is organized to explore several key questions: What are the relationships among art, science, technology, culture, and all related disciplines or systems of understanding? How do these disciplines relate to one another to foster creativity, innovation, and discovery? What are the tangible results of these interactions? DASER aims to create community and discussion around the intersection of art and science.

DASER is organized by Cultural Programs of the National Academy of Sciences in collaboration with Leonardo, the International Society for the Arts, Sciences, and Technology. The thoughts and opinions expressed in the DASER events are those of the speakers and do not necessarily reflect the positions of the National Academy of Sciences or of Leonardo.

AIM Health Institute

This event is organized in collaboration with the AIM Health Institute (Access to Integrative Medicine). AIM provides integrative healthcare to low-income and terminally ill patients in the Washington D.C. region, regardless of their ability to pay. By blending conventional care with complementary therapies, AIM takes a compassionate approach to healing, addressing the biological, psychological, social, and spiritual aspects of health. https://www.healthaim.org/
