The BASICS Mobility + Movement Class is hosted by Kits Beach Coffee and guided by Trauma-Informed Trainer, Gabi Varga.

Attendance to the class is by donation, all proceeds to Batterred Women's Support Services.

This class is designed to improve mobility, flexibility, and basic strength bodyweight movements, all guided through trauma-informed tools to help your body explore its likes, dislikes, and boundaries—and feel more connected to yourself.

The class is open to all levels, featuring simple and easy-to-follow movements. You can expect a slower pace and plenty of space for reflection to help you check in with your body throughout.

PLEASE BRING A YOGA MAT AND PROPS.

ABOUT GABI:

Gabi Varga is a trauma-informed personal trainer with over two decades of experience. She began her fitness journey as a group fitness instructor in her home country, Hungary. After relocating to Montreal and later to Vancouver, she transitioned into personal training.

Gabi’s own experience with trauma—being in unsafe environments and around emotionally abusive people—led her to numb with overtraining and external validation.

Her healing journey showed her that true strength comes from feeling safe in your own body. That’s what inspired her to shift from conventional fitness to a trauma-informed approach.

Today, she helps others move in gentle, safe, and regulated ways—honoring each body’s boundaries, preferences, and pace. Gabi deeply believes that when we work with people, we work with trauma, and that movement can be a powerful tool for healing and reconnection.
