About this event

Music • Classical

Join the internationally acclaimed musicians of the Baltimore Consort in a program of early music entitle "In Angel's Wede." Based on the life of Mary Queen of Scots, the performance features music that illustrates the different periods in her life. In addition to Scottish music this program incorporates music from the French court Mary would have heard in her childhood, English music from the end of her life, a short detour to the Italy of her murdered secretary/lutenist (and papal spy?) David Rizzio, and an English piece by William Byrd commemorating her martyrdom, titled "In Angel’s Wede". Captivating narration is provided by Emmy Award winner (and television and radio personality) Robert Aubry Davis.

Join this special experience to hear this expert ensemble on their home turf, and see why The New Yorker observes that “few early music players have more fun making music than the Baltimore six.”

The event is free and open to the public, with doors opening at 7:00 pm. A suggested donation of $10-$20 directly benefits the musicians and the music series. Please note the event will not be livestreamed.
