So Many Roads

Bringing the BFBF “We Can Recover” message to schools, rehabilitation centers, detox centers, drug courts, and jails/prisons is a crucial part of our mission. Our organization meets individuals “where they are” on their journeys while promoting the vital message that recovery is indeed possible for everyone. Featuring Vic Vela’s inspiring narrative, this initiative involves recounting his recovery story, as he has done many times in the past. Additionally, we host roundtable discussions with individuals in recovery across various community-serving institutions, which include schools, jails, and behavioral health centers. This work is done in cooperation with individuals whose own recovery journeys are deeply rooted in these vital places. The BFBF also puts significant emphasis on outreach to our rural communities. We bring the So Many Roads initiative to schools, jails, and other locations throughout the state where a recovery message would be particularly beneficial. BFBF places a strong focus on serving rural and low-income communities that often lack sufficient resources to support those who are struggling with addiction or mental health issues.
