Raised in South Central Los Angeles, exposed to a melting pot of different cultures which allows for him to have a broad canvas for his work. Wayne Henry moved to Dallas TX in 2008 and has become a passionate poet who writes each line to watch it come alive through poetry.
Dedicated to bringing awareness to issues such as mental health, oppression, depression, and concepts of spiritual growth.

Ranked 3rd nationally at the 2024 Southern Fried Poetry Competition and crowned the 2023 Southern Fried Underground Champion, he’s also earned multiple R2W Slam titles, a top 5 national ranking in 2022, and placed 5th worldwide at the 2018 Individual World Poetry Slam. A 2-time Dallas Grand Slam Champion, Wayne has claimed top honors at the Southwest Shootout, Black Art Film Festival, and Denton Arts Enclave—making him a bold, authentic, and undeniable force in the world of spoken word.
