About Your Instructor

Kelly Nickel, M.A. Education, is a popular Communication instructor at Shasta College who

believes that learning and laughter go together like red wine and chocolate. He primarily

teaches Public Speaking, but also taught the Intro to Wine class at Shasta College between

2008-2011. His love for wine grew from years of serving in the restaurant industry, which

sparked a mission to visit every wine region in California and Oregon in search of

knowledge and wine. In the early ‘90’s, Kelly worked at a tasting room in Temecula CA,

which sparked his passion for educating others about the benefits of adding a healthy wine

habit to their lives.
