The Art of the Tree
Join me for a peaceful and enriching three-hour pastel class where we explore the beauty, complexity, and quiet strength of trees. From graceful branches to textured bark, dappled light to expressive silhouettes, this session will guide you in capturing the unique personality of a tree through value, shape, and mark-making.

Whether you're drawn to sturdy trunks or soft leafy canopies, we’ll work step-by-step through building structure, simplifying foliage, and creating atmosphere. You’ll receive reference images, a demo walkthrough, and thoughtful instruction to support your creative voice.

These lessons are recorded for those who cannot make the live stream. You can watch the recording as many times as you like!

How do I sign up?

What supplies do I need for the class?

You’ll need basic pastel supplies. I’ll send a full supply list closer to the class date, with recommendations for affordable options. Don’t worry—there’s no need to buy anything expensive.

What will we be painting?

We’ll be painting a landscape and practicing our tree techniques! The reference images will be sent to you closer to the class date. It’s a perfect opportunity to practice your pastel skills and express your creativity.

Will the class be recorded?

Yes! If you can’t attend live, you can watch the recording afterward. All registered students will have access to the video to watch and learn at their own pace.

How will I receive the Zoom link?

After you register, you’ll receive a confirmation email with the Zoom link and other details. You’ll also get a reminder email with the link a day before the class.

Can I ask for feedback on my work during class?

Yes! I encourage feedback and will be available for questions. If there’s not enough time for everyone’s critique during the class, I’ll follow up with feedback via email afterward.
