Event description

Description

The San Diego Diplomacy Council, with support from GoPro, Changing Tides Foundation, and Wild Ideas Worth Living invite you to join us for a panel discussion, moderated by Shelby Stanger of the Wild Ideas Worth Living Podcast. We will hear from traveling visionaries who are using media to share their culture, challenge perceptions, and create positive change.

Panelists:

  • Albara Alohali is a Saudi Arabian vagabond who has given TedX talks, speaks multiple languages, and uses social media to tell his stories and connect with the world.

  • Alison Teal is a filmmaker, surfer, and the former contestant on Naked and Afraid. She’s been named by Time Magazine as the the “Female Indiana Jones.”

  • Devyn Bisson is a documentary filmmaker who has made movies like The Wave I Ride, featuring Paige Alms and Lighthouse Molyvos. She uses film as a way to connect cultures and inspire people to courageously live their most authentic lives.

  • Cort Muller is GoPro's Senior Producer responsible for identifying and facilitating storytelling opportunities around the world. He manages a team of talented editors and directors, but also frequently relies on the many creative customers who use GoPro Cameras as their story telling device.

This event is free and open to the public, but RSVPs are required. The main event will be held 5:30pm to 7:00pm followed by a reception from 7:00pm to 7:30pm with complimentary food and drinks from local vendors. This will be a BYO-Cup event in an attempt to keep our waste to a minimum. Changing Tides Foundation stainless steel cups will be available for a suggested donation of $10.
