The Art of June Leaf, 1929 – 2024. Art Talk by Robert Bunkin
Overview
NYU’s Grey Art Museum co-organized a traveling retrospective of June Leaf’s work Shooting from the Heart (closing December 13, 2025), which ranges from her paintings, installations, drawings, sculptures and automatons. Leaf was a legendary figure, with studios in Nova Scotia and New York, where she explored visible and imaginary realms through materials, techniques and mechanics. A master draughtswoman and tinkerer, she offers unique perspectives on life, love, movement and illusion.
