THE ART OF IMPROVISATION
Event Information
Description
Please join us for another "Sundays Live At The Studio” concert series.
Would you agree that improvisation plays an important role in our lives?
We plan our day, we converse with friends and colleagues, we order lunch and choose our vacation spots. We meet new people and strike friendships.
On February 17th, The Live @ The Studio audience will have a chance to witness how four musicians, each accomplished in their own realm of music, will get together and create multiple compositions on the spot.
James Ross and Tanya Anisimova have come up with a new genre of improvisation, sound-painting, which they successfully presented for the first time last November at Masonic Memorial Chapel in Alexandria.
Masters of jazz improv Victor Dvoskin and Harry Appelman are an established duo. They will play a few of their favorite songs.
Tanya Anisimova will join Victor and Harry to create a piece from a mold of harmonic progressions.
The culmination of the event will be a piece where all four musicians will join forces and create a new work, which will combine jazz, classical, and folk elements.
Blue House Productions is anticipating an sold out event. Advance reservations are recommended.
