About the Agile Fluency Game

In the game, you take on the role of a team that's adopting Agile for the first time. Your challenge is to decide how to spend your limited time. Do you develop features or learn new Agile practices? Which features? Which practices? Features are the only way to earn points, but Agile practices help you do more.

Playing the game is a great way to learn how Agile practices affect real-world software development.

Game + workshop cost

After five years of development, we're thrilled to offer you the game along with the lessons we've learned along the way.

The one-day workshop will take place in Portland and run from 8:30-5:00. Lunch and morning/afternoon snacks will be provided.

The workshop cost of $895 includes a boxed set with everything you need to run the game. Attendees can purchase additional game sets for $405 each (a 10% discount). Discounts available for groups of three or more.

Coming from out of town? Make it a weekend! The workshop is held at McMenamin's Kennedy School, a funky hotel and brewpub in a vibrant Portland neighborhood. Rooms are priced affordably.

How do I play the game with teams?

The Agile Fluency Game supports one to seven players. A typical session, including instructions and debrief, takes 1.5 to 2 hours.

One session is all you need for the core lessons, but the game is challenging enough that most players enjoy the opportunity to play again and try for a better score. Each session provides opportunities for further learning. You can use the game as part of a larger training course or as a stand-alone exercise for your teams.
