Can I bring a keyboard?

Yes, all keyboards are welcome! We will release info soon on rules like how many you can bring, deskmats, etc.

Who can attend?

Anyone! This event is open to the public, keyboard enthusiast or not. You do NOT need to be a member of the Texas Mechanical Keyboard group or a UTD alumni.

Do I need a keyboard to attend?

Accepted Answer

Definitely not! We recognize that this is a great opportunity for new comers to the keyboard hobby to try out different custom mechanical keyboards and that some may not have a keyboard.

Do I need a ticket to enter the event?

Yes, tickets are required to enter the event. There will be a check-in station that will require you to show your ticket to gain entry.

The only exception are children under 12 with guardian supervision who can attend free.

Are children allowed at the event?

Accepted Answer

Children under 12 with guardian supervision are free to attend the event; however, they will not receive any of the extras included with purchased tickets.

How many tickets will be available for the event?

We are releasing 300 tickets at first. If those sell out and there is enough interest, we will consider releasing more.

Why do I need to provide my shirt size?

Accepted Answer

Each ticket will come with a complimentary t-shirt. However, to guarantee you receive your correct shirt size, we need to know beforehand how many of each size we need to order.

There will be extras, but providing your shirt size beforehand is the only way to guarantee your size.

Is there a deadline for providing shirt size?

The current deadline to guarantee you get your shirt size is to purchase your ticket before February 24.

Yes, please reference the image in the "About" section of this page for the shirt sizing guide.

Why do I need to provide a display name (nickname, Discord tag, etc.)?

This field is mostly used for if you would prefer to not use your real name at the event. For example, during the raffle giveaways, your name may be called, and you may not want your full name revealed. If you have no preference, feel free to just fill in your name again for this field.

What will my ticket funds be used for?

Accepted Answer

Ticket funds will be used for the planning and logistics of the event, and any additional will be donated to CancerCare as charity.

What is included in my ticket purchase?

Accepted Answer

A ticket gives access to the event, a PCB name badge, a t-shirt, a swag bag, and a raffle entry to the event's giveaways.

I've purchased my ticket, what do I do now? Where can I keep track of more information?

There are no additional required actions after buying your ticket. Make sure you join our Discord and follow us on Instagram (links in About page) so you don't miss any updates!

How do I keep track of my ticket?

We suggest you keep track of your order confirmation e-mail (Verify you received it after ordering!), as well as potentially downloading the EventBrite app for handling your EventBrite tickets.

Can I edit my ticket info?

Yes! If you need to change your shirt size, make sure you do it before February 17 to guarantee you get your selected size. To edit, log-in to your Eventbrite account and go to Tickets. Select the event and click "Edit". You should be shown a screen that allows you to edit your ticket information.

Can I transfer my tickets to someone else?

While it is not possible to transfer the order itself, you can edit the details on the ticket to someone else. Log-in to your Eventbrite account and go to Tickets. Select the event and click "Edit". You should be shown a screen that allows you to edit your ticket information.

I lost my ticket! How do I find it again?

Accepted Answer

Check your e-mail for the order confirmation e-mail. If not, please contact organizers with all potential details you might have to help us find your ticket.

I can no longer attend the event. Can I get a refund?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you are able to receive a refund, and your ticket will be opened up for someone else to claim. Note that the Eventbrite fee is non-refundable. Please contact us through the Eventbrite page, Discord, or Instagram to request a refund.

Can I ask someone else to claim my goodie bags if they have my QR code even if I can’t make it?

Yes, as long as the person has your QR code, they can pick up your goodie bag.

What items are prohibited?

Weapons, drugs, and alcohol are prohibited. Food and drink are not allowed inside the venue, but they are permitted outdoors.

Will there be security at the event?

We will have a Public Service Officer, alongside a team of volunteers to watch over keyboards. The UT Dallas Police Department will be on campus.

Is re-entry allowed?

Yes! You can leave and re-enter as long as you show your name badge.

Will there be food and drink?

There may be food, but it will not be enough for a full meal. For drink options, Bobaddiction will also be vending from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM if you get thirsty! There will be also water provided outside the venue.

Is parking free?

Yes! There is a parking garage across the street from the venue where parking is free on the second floor and above.

Will someone be watching the keyboards?

Yes, we will have volunteers monitoring the keyboards inside the showroom.

How do I enter the raffle?

When your ticket QR code is scanned upon check-in, you are automatically entered into the raffle. There are no raffle tickets or any other physical items for you to fill out!

Since you aren't using phyiscal tickets, will I get doxxed if I win?

No, we will use the display name you entered when you purchased your ticket to announce the winner. If you put your full name as the display name then that's your fault :)

If I win a raffle but I am no longer at the event, can I still claim the prize?

No, you or an authorized party must be present to claim your prize. We will not ship the item to you if you are not there. If not claimed within a reasonable time, the item will be re-rolled. If another party is claiming for you, they must have your ticket QR code.

To be as least intrusive to the meetup experience as possible, we will be rolling winners in batches throughout the meetup and displaying their names on the screen, and winners can visit the raffle table to claim their prize. The main concern about deskmats is that they take up more space than the allowed space limit per attendee.

Since I can't bring a deskmat, how do I protect my keyboard from the table?

Each table will have a table cloth to place your keyboard on top of.

Can I donate my keyboard space to someone else?

Accepted Answer

Yes, if there is mutual agreement between the two parties.

Will there be a no-touch/no-pickup section?
