Questions about supporting English Learners (ELs) and Emergent Bilinguals (EBs) in the classroom show up on several TExES exams, including Core Subjects, PPR, and (of course) the ESL Supplemental.
In this interactive online course, participants will gain an understanding of the English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS) and appropriate linguistic supports for ELs and EBs at each proficiency level in order to be better informed when selecting answer choices on TExES exams.
Participants will:
- gain an understanding of the English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS)
- discuss appropriate linguistic supports for ELs and EBs at each proficiency level
- determine a student's proficiency level based on sample work
- apply this learning to several practice questions
