Provider #1 Course #53505 Texas: New Laws & Contract Updates
The 89th Texas Legislature addressed several important issues affecting real estate statewide. Related legislation has been signed into law, including SB 2349 (effective Sept, 1, 2025) and SB 1968 (effective Jan. 1, 2026). These bills directly impact consumers and licensees. This course is designed to address these changes to the Texas Real Estate Licensing Act and bring awareness to licensees who are the boots on the ground working with buyers and sellers in a dynamic and changing real estate environment.
As licensees approach 2026 and beyond, it is imperative that they are up to date on representation requirements for all types of real estate transactions; TREC enforcement of new TRELA laws; the elimination of subagency as the default position in Texas; contract changes related to the new laws plus additional contract changes under review by the Broker Lawyer Committee; and revised education requirements, particularly for brokers. The state has taken a new stance on representation, a core tenant of every licensee’s business practices. Licensees are required by law to adapt and adhere to these changes. This course is intended to bring awareness and understanding of this legislation so licensees are prepared to serve clients with confidence, clear communication and compliance.
