Join the Uncovering the Tweed team for the excavation of more test pits along the field margins at Paxton. We will be searching for lithics to understand the densities of finds to try and locate concentrations that could indicate underlying features.
Site hours will be between 10am and 3pm. Sign up for a day or two to try it out or come for all four! We recommend signing up for a series of consecutive days if you are able to, to get the most out the experience and try out different parts of the project.
Training in excavation and recording will be provided by archaeologists from AOC.
Once you have signed up more information on the event will be sent out the week before. The site parking details will be confirmed and the test pits will be c. 10-20 minutes walk along the field edge from the parking depending on where we are working.
Participants should bring sturdy footwear, waterproofs, water and a pack lunch.
