Entrepreneurs need to be able to think quickly on their feet. They also need to know their way away around a pitch deck. Finally, it's a stressful job; it's important to let loose every now and then.
That's why on Thursday, 9/24, we're hosting PowerPoint Karaoke, an improv-style pitch meetup. Here's how it works:
Challengers will have 2 minutes to deliver a completely unprepared pitch. Before presenting, individuals will select two pieces of paper. One will have the name of a made-up startup - like Dibble, SwiftCloud, e-Swerve, Thrice, etc. - and the other will have a name of an industry or category - like on-demand, IoT, marketing, food, gaming, mobile, social, etc.
Competitors will pitch their startup and every presentation will be accompanied by a 5-slide PowerPoint. The PowerPoints will be pre-made and COMPLETELY random; they could include pictures of pie charts, dollar signs, graphs, elephants, or Keanu Reeves. It's a pitch competition meets an improv game. So, whether you're an entrepreneur, improviser, or someone just looking for a good time, grab your tickets here or below.
At the end, we will let crowd cheer decide the top three presentations and prizes will be awarded. The quality of the prizes will match the seriousness of the competition.
The event will be at WeWork and we will have food and beverage. If you'd like to partner with us on this event or if you have any questions, email email@example.com. Finally, to read more about the PowerPoint Karaoke trend and format, check out the NY Times' profile here.
