Tech and your Woods: How technology can improve the wildlife in your woods
Join us for an introduction to how technology can help you manage your woods.
The field day will include sessions on:
MyLandPlan.org: a website developed for woodland owners where you can map your land, set your goals and plan for activities to improve the health of your land and the animals that call it home.
Web Soil Survey: an online tool you can use to learn more about the soils found in your woods.
Smartphone Apps: useful apps you can download and have with you while you walk your woods.
Drones: look at your land from a new perspective!
Demonstrations in the field on how the Arington Tree Farm uses technology to improve wildlife habitat in their woods.
Please bring a lunch. Drinks will be provided. If you would like one-on-one help setting up a My Land Plan account or accessing the different online tools, you are encouraged to bring a laptop or tablet. A limited amount of computers will be available to use. Workshop will take place rain or shine, please dress appropriately.
