Orientation for General Education and Education Specialist Teacher Induction Program.
Candidates will collaborate to understand the requirements of induction including the 2024 California Standards for the Teaching Profession. Candidates will also build community and connect with program coordinators. Every candidate new to the SMCOE Teacher Induction program must attend one orientation. Please note that if sessions have low registration, you will be notified of cancellation 3 days prior via email and be offered another option.

Registration
Pre-registration is required for one of the following dates:
- September 10, 2025 4:30 PM - 7:30 PM. In Person at SMCOE Office
- September 18, 2025 4:30 PM - 7:30 PM. Virtual via Zoom
- October 2, 2025 4:30 PM -7:30 PM. In Person at SMCOE Office
- *October 4, 2025 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM. In Person at SMCOE Office
- October 28, 2025 4:30 PM - 4:30 PM. In Person at SMCOE Office
In-Person sessions will be conducted at the SMCOE Office located at 101 Twin Dolphin Drive, Redwood City, CA 94065.
*The extended Orientation sessions on October 4 will include an Introduction to Universal Design for Learning (UDL). This event counts as meeting the orientation requirement and one additional professional learning experience. Candidates will focus on the UDL guidelines and how to set effective goals for self and guiding students.
Virtual Sessions will be conducted via Zoom.
