Tattoos as Religious Practices
By Georgetown University Department of Sociology
Overview
Fr. Gustavo Morello SJ, Boston College, will explore the connections between tattoos and religion.
Are tattoos legitimate religious practices? Are they a real religion? For many, among Gen Z but also in the past, tattoos have been a way to connect with the supernatural.
In this talk, we will explore the connections between tattoos and religion, their conflictive story, and their thriving present: tattoos help us to understand our religious world better.
Lunch will be provided.
