Tapering with Support: MATS Continuing Education Series
Overview
This two-hour webinar equips MATS professionals with essential knowledge and tools to sucessfully assist patietns that have decided to transition off of medications like methadone and buprenorphine.
Learning objectives:
At the end of this training, participants will be able to:
- Describe the clinical, emotional, and behavioral challenges commonly experienced by patients tapering from MOUD, and identify factors that influence taper readiness and success.
- Apply supportive counseling and motivational interviewing strategies to help patients navigate ambivalence, relapse risk, and changes in recovery identity during tapering.
- Develop individualized relapse prevention and recovery support plans that integrate multidisciplinary collaboration, harm reduction, and ongoing monitoring post-taper.
CEU Information:
This course provides 2 CEU’s. CEU’s are Category 1 CEU provided by Indiana State statute 839IAC 1-6-2(F)(86)
