Class Details:

  • Duration: 1.5 hours per session
  • Each week features choreography sequences building progressively over 5 weeks
  • Includes warm-ups, fundamental training, and conditioning
  • Dance styles: Tango, Milonga, and Vals with dramatic exhibition moves
  • No makeup classes available

Class Format:

  • 20 min: Warm-up, stretching, and conditioning tailored to choreography moves
  • 40 min: Learning segments of choreography
  • 20 min: Practice and repetition of sequences

Participant Requirements:

  • Intermediate tango level or experience in choreographed partner dancing (including ballroom, salsa, swing, etc)
  • Strong coordination, synchronization, balance, concentration, and spatial awareness
  • Good physical health (no injuries or health restrictions)
  • Commitment to attend all classes prioritized
  • Dance partner required (join our waiting list or hire an advanced dancer if needed)

Maximum Enrollment: 5 Couples

Bonus Opportunity:

While sequences won't be reviewed weekly, participants will have an optional special class at the end of the series to rehearse the complete choreography. Successful participants may have the opportunity to showcase their performance at a special event or regular milonga. Please note that participating in the final performance is optional and not mandatory.

Organized by

Sergio Segura is a producer of large-scale Argentine Tango shows and events. He is also a professional performer, choreographer and a dedicated teacher of the dance.

In 2003, he founded Sergio Segura Tango Productions. In 2011 he produced two major, sold-out events: “Amor y Tango” at the Highline Ballroom, NYC, and “Tango in the Castle” at Morningside Castle, NYC.  He co-created the multimedia productions “Soles Ablaze” (2004), “The Anthropology of Tango Dance” (2006) and “Epocas de Tango” (2010) which were presented with great success at the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, TX and at the Yonkers public library. In 2010, he produced the “1st NYC Queer Tango Festival.” It was a major event in the city featured in the New York Times and Revista VIVA of Buenos Aires.

Sergio has also collaborated with The Argentine Tango Society as the marketing director of the acclaimed “I Tango” shows in 2007 and 2011. In October 2011 he was the artistic director for “A Night of Argentine Tango Stars” at the renowned Olney Theatre outside of D.C. And for the past five years he has been working as the public relations manager for the “New York Summer Tango & Film Festival.” He was also sponsor for Club Sin Rumbo, the mythical, 87 year old milonga in the Villa Urquiza neighborhood in Buenos Aires.
