🧴 Tallow & Tenderness: A Salve-Making Workshop

Thursday, July 24, 2025

6:00 PM – 9:00 PM PDT

Location: Black Food Sovereignty Coalition

Join us for an intimate, hands-on workshop facilitated by Carriese Broussard, where we’ll craft a deeply healing herbal salve from start to finish. Using farm-raised cow tallow, beeswax, herbs lovingly grown and harvested at the CROPS farm, and luscious shea butter sourced from a Black-owned business, this workshop offers more than just a DIY experience—it’s an invitation into ancestral wisdom, collective care, and land-based healing.

Together we’ll:

  • Learn the properties and cultural lineage of tallow, beeswax, herbs, and shea in skin healing
  • Engage in collective salve-making
  • Explore traditional and contemporary uses for salves
  • Connect in community around our relationship to land, lineage, and wellness

✨ Each participant will leave with their own handmade salve and the knowledge to continue crafting at home.
