Talking Circle: Healing in Sacred Places & Spaces
Overview
🌍 Healing in Sacred Places & Spaces
Psychology, Mother Earth, and the Medicine of Non-Ordinary States
Wednesday, December 3rd | 6:00 – 7:30 PM
Pyle Adult Recreation Center – Tempe, AZ - Tuscon Room
Across cultures and continents, humans have traveled to sacred landscapes to pray, receive guidance, regulate the nervous system, and reconnect with their inner knowing. From an Indigenous perspective, the land is not just scenery — it is a living relative, a healer, and a teacher. Psychology now echoes this ancient truth: being in nature changes brain chemistry, restores emotional balance, and expands states of consciousness.
In this Talking Circle, we will explore how places themselves become medicine — from Earth’s ley lines and natural energetic currents to ancestral sites like Mesa Verde, where many have experienced non-ordinary awareness, profound memory, and inner restoration.
✨ Together we’ll explore: • How sacred sites influence the mind, energy body, and emotional states • The role of nature in regulating trauma, grief, and anxiety • Indigenous views on healing the land and the land healing us • Earth’s subtle energetic systems: ley lines, power points, portals, and vortices • How non-ordinary states (dreaming, meditation, prayer, ceremony, pilgrimage) arise in sacred places • Practical ways to build a personal relationship with Mother Earth wherever you live
You’re invited to bring a journal, a stone, or a meaningful object from nature if you wish.
Come sit with us as we remember what our ancestors always knew:Healing is not only something we do — it is somewhere we return to. 🌿✨
Bring a journal, your curiosity, and (if you wish) a small sacred item for our altar space.
Free / donation-based event.
In the spirit of giving, The Medicine Way is gathering new and unused art materials to support Native American children in need throughout the Phoenix area. This effort is made possible in partnership with the Phoenix Indian Center. Donations such as coloring books, colored pencils, markers, paints, brushes, sketch pads, and so on are deeply appreciated and help spark creativity, joy, and healing through art during the holiday season. Bring them to any Medicine Way event through 12/10/25.
