    “Taking Portraits While Traveling”

Learn how to capture meaningful portraits on the road—whether you’re photographing locals, fellow travelers, or spontaneous street scenes. Patte will share her tips on lighting, connection, and getting great shots without interrupting the moment.

Bio: Patte has been capturing images since she was 6 years old when her parents gave her a Brownie camera. Traveling is what she likes to do (yes, she is a hodophile), documenting her travels in unique photographs. To date, she has traveled to all 7 continents and over 70 countries, with more on her list. After the Brownie camera, there were disposable cameras, Pentax, Minolta and Nikon cameras. In 2018 while trying to lighten her camera bag, she made the switch to Sony and has never looked back (her bag is heavier now than in the Nikon days). Patte is a nature photographer and particularly enjoys capturing wildlife in their natural habitat. She is a keen birder but definitely explores the entire ecosystem on her travels down to the minuscule bug! Why come hear a story about her travels? Patte is a self-taught photographer, who wants to capture the image in her camera and not spend hours in the digital darkroom. She can share some very basic tips and tricks to capturing the moment in your backyard or around the world. Her life goal is to inspire others to get out and shoot - you never know what you will capture!
