Taking charge without being in charge: Power, influence and goal-setting
Overview
Agenda
Do you juggle multiple priorities, shifting expectations and a demanding workload? Are there times when you feel caught between different supervisors, unclear goals or invisible responsibilities? Research assistants and technicians often carry enormous responsibility, but not always the same level of influence.
Join us to learn practical, safe and realistic tools to:
- recognise the quiet forms of power you already have and likely use
- strengthen your work relationships with senior staff
- communicate your needs and boundaries with confidence
- use goal-setting to reduce overwhelm and get recognition for your work
- shape the work around you even without a senior title.
Whether you're currently finding aspects of your role challenging or you already feel good in your position and want to strengthen your skills, anticipate future demands and work even more effectively, this masterclass is designed with practicality for you.
Expect to leave with greater confidence and know-how when it comes to taking charge of your role, gaining clarity, and making your work life smoother, safer and more fulfilling.
Preparation: Please bring pen and paper to the session and arrive 5 minutes ahead to ensure a timely start.
If you have further questions about the workshop please e-mail, Emma Hudson at admin@maketimecount.com
See you at the masterclass!
