‘Take a Deep Dive into Behaviour Support Assessment Tools’
Presented by Dr. Fiona J Davis (Specialist Practitioner) and facilitated by Emma Burke (Advanced Practitioner).
Join us this month as Dr. Fiona J Davis guides us through a practical and insightful deep dive into core Behaviour Support Assessment Tools. This session is designed to enhance your confidence, clinical reasoning, and application of assessment tools in everyday behaviour support practice through understanding the tool, knowing how to score and interpret the results, and how to write up the results for formal reporting.
Whether you are new to behaviour support or looking to strengthen your toolkit, this training offers a valuable opportunity to refine your approach and ensure your assessments are person-centred, evidence-informed, and aligned with NDIS best practice.
Contextual Inventory Assessment (CIA)
The Contextual Assessment Inventory is designed to:
· Identify what is working and not working in different environments;
· Identify routines, triggers, skills, needs, and preferences;

· A person’s behaviours of concern significantly impact carers ability to cope;
· An examination of the ripple effects of behaviour on a family or support network;
· Demonstration of the need for additional support, funding, and/or training
Questions About Behavioural Function (QABF)
The QABF It helps identify the function (or purpose) of a person’s challenging behaviour by asking individuals support network (carers, educators, or support staff) to rate behavioural patterns:
· Identify potential behavioural function across a range of domains;
