Event description

Description

Rotary Charities is thrilled to host David Peter Stroh and Michael Goodman of Bridgeway Partners, thought leaders in systems thinking, for a rich workshop that will increase the effectiveness of Changemakers to lead systems change.

  • Why do social systems thwart people’s best intentions to improve them?

  • How do these systems actually behave and change?

  • How can you work with them to achieve sustainable, breakthrough results?

You will learn the principles and tools of systems thinking, begin to apply them to your own organizational issues, and understand how they can be integrated into a complex change management framework.

In particular you will learn to:

  • Understand why systems undermine our best intentions to improve them

  • Distinguish conventional from systems thinking

  • Appreciate why systems thinking leads to more effective decisions and breakthrough change

  • Apply a four-stage process for leading systemic change to a chronic, complex issue facing your organization

  • Learn and practice basic systems thinking language and tools

  • Identify archetypal structures which catalyze insights into more complex system dynamics

  • Uncover the power of mental models to influence performance

  • Distinguish the case for the status quo from the case for change

  • Clarify leverage points for sustainable system-wide improvement

You also have the option to register for a free half-day session on May 23rd to dive deeper into topics of interest with Bridgeway Partners. You must attend the two-day workshop on May 21st-22nd to attend the half-day session. Registration closes May 14th.

In your registration you will have the opportunity to purchase Systems Thinking for Social Change: A Practical Guide for Solving Complex Problems, Avoiding Unintended Consequences, and Achieving Lasting Results at a 40% discount.

The workshop will be led by David Peter Stroh and Michael Goodman of Bridgeway Partners.
