Systems Thinking and Transport Workshop

By System Dynamics Society Special Interest Group in Transportation

Overview

The System Dynamics Society Special Interest Group in Transportation (SDS T-SIG) are pleased to announce their 8th Annual Workshop.

We continue with an in person format, which will be hosted by KTH in Stockholm, Sweden, but plan to offer hybrid sessions for attending online on the first day, as the second day will be in-person activities only.

The scope includes all forms of systems thinking approaches, though with a focus on system dynamics.

This free workshop will consist of a mix of presentations, engagement sessions and network building opportunities.

The intention of the workshop is to showcase the range of research and practice being carried out in transport studies and planning using system thinking methods, particularly system dynamics, and it is designed to:

  • Promote the role of systems thinking approaches in transport;
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration in transport and systems thinking;
  • Encourage and support early-stage researchers in systems thinking in transport
  • Share methodological approaches, teaching materials, works in progress, best practise case studies and state-of-the-art use of systems thinking in transportation research and planning
