Come pet our synths! This "petting zoo" offers a unique opportunity for hands-on experimentation with synthesizers.

Join us in Orbach Library, Room 122 for an afternoon of sound exploration featuring faculty from the UCR Department of Music and visiting scholars from across the UC system. This petting zoo offers a unique opportunity for hands-on experimentation with synthesizers.

10-Minute lightning talks followed by guided hands-on experimentation:

  • 12 p.m. Intro to Synths with Dr. Amy Skierseth (UCR)
  • 12:45 p.m. Subtractive Synthesis with Dr. Ian Dicke (UCR)
  • 1:30 p.m. Ancient Computer Music with Dr. Peter Krapp (UCI)
  • 2:15 p.m. Synthesis Modules in Practice with Dr. Tom Erbe (UCSD)

Drop in any time from Noon to 3 p.m.! Free and open to the public. Refreshments provided while supplies last.

Recording & Archive: Please note that this event will be recorded. The recordings will be transformed into a free public online archive hosted on GitHub.
