In partnership with V3 Sports, this seven-week program provides an inclusive, safe space for girls in Minneapolis to overcome barriers in aquatic safety, fostering confidence and resilience!

No membership is required! Please register for the Older Team (meeting on Thursday mornings) if the swimmer is within the ages of 14-18. Each swimmer will receive a swim starter kit with a few swim essentials!

A parent and/ or guardian is required for each girl on the younger team (13 and under). One adult is required for the entire older team. Adults will have a space to sit in the lobby and can enjoy Soul Bowl Restaurant attached to the lobby. Blinds to the pool will be closed for the privacy of children and those of varying religious backgrounds.

Details

  • 7 sessions, 1 session a week on Thursday mornings
  • Begins Thursday, June 12th-Thursday, July 31st (skipping Thursday, June 19th and Thursday, July 3rd)
  • Time: 10:00am –11:00 am
  • 1 adult required for the group of youth (ex: parent, para, teacher, caregiver, legal guardian, etc)
  • Each swimmer must bring a signed waiver
  • 25 spots available


*** V3 has offered to lend swimsuits to those who do not own one. These will be available at each swim lesson to use and return. Sizes vary from youth to adult sizes. Here is the sizing chart for reference: https://reddiset.com/pages/female-speedo-size-charts. Swimmers are encouraged to swim in clothing that respects their needs and beliefs. Leggings and long-sleeved shirts are allowed for those who need them.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to know how to swim to sign up?

No! All levels of swimming experience is welcome and will be accommodated to!

Do I sign up for each lesson?

Sign up only for the first date of the series, and you will be enrolled in all 7 sessions. If you have a girl under 8-13, sign them up for the younger team. If you have a girl 14-18, sign her up separately for the older team.

How will privacy for the youth be ensured?

All windows looking into the pool, both from the weight room above and the street outside, will be closed to ensure the privacy of all girls is protected. This increases the inclusivity of the space for girls of all religions and backgrounds.

Is this a girls only event?

Yes, this program is for girls only.

What do I need to bring?

Bring a swimsuit, change of clothes, shoes for out of the pool and the waiver that will be given to you after you register online.
