Swiftie Science: The STEM Eras Tour | Grades 4-6
Overview
How can the music of Taylor Swift spark curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking? Find out in Swiftie Science—a STEM camp for Swifties! Campers will design dazzling “Bejeweled” light-up jewelry, engineer strong structures in the “Shake It Off” challenge, and program robots for a Sphero “Tour Through the Eras.” Inspired by The Life of a Showgirl, they’ll take on the “Spotlight Stage Design Challenge,” creating and lighting up mini concert stages that blend art and engineering. From coding to construction, campers will explore science, technology, and creativity — all while jamming out to Taylor’s biggest hits from every era!
Guided Activities
- Design "bejeweled" circuitry bracelets—not only will we make the whole place shimmer, but we will make it light up as well!
- Engineer sturdy structures that can withstand the "shake, shake, shake" of an earthquake simulation.
- Transform Spheros into tour buses, programming their own paths through Taylor’s iconic eras to “fearlessly” navigate stages, conquer challenges, and celebrate every hit along the way.
- Step into the spotlight as stage engineers, designing and building dazzling mini concert stages that “shine” with lights, motion, and creativity worthy of Taylor’s Showgirl era.
