The hottest topic last year for A/C contractors in South Louisiana was how to deal with condensation in ductwork, an all-too common problem made worse by the record high temperatures & humidity. SELACACI is answering its members’ call in offering this program, presented by the instructors of the K&B Team. There are sophisticated ways of explaining the phenomenon: Psychrometrics & discussions of Dewpoints -- which SELACACI will feature in the Fall -- but this program will focus on various “down & dirty” hands-on field approaches that should be much more widely available & employed in the industry. In addition to explaining the importance of proper insulation & ventilation, K&B will elaborate on four main test methods (which could also represent potential new revenue for contractors in the slow months): Static Pressure, Infrared Camera, Blower Door & Duct Leakage Testing. Our goals for the program include not only better understanding, but also sounder sleep for both you & your customers over the coming summer.
