Overview

An ACHE of Mississippi Virtual Interactive Panel

In the wake of the pandemic, the spiritual strain on healthcare professionals has intensified alongside long-standing challenges with burnout and emotional fatigue. Many clinicians and staff are carrying moral distress, grief, and compassion fatigue that affect not only their well-being but also their relationships, sense of purpose, and ability to serve. These pressures can manifest as disrupted sleep, decreased fulfillment in work, emotional exhaustion, and anxiety—factors that can contribute to more serious concerns such as burnout, depression, and spiritual disconnection.

Healthcare leaders often recognize these struggles but may feel uncertain about how to support such a deeply personal and complex dimension of well-being. Quick fixes and generic programs frequently fall short, and in some cases can deepen feelings of cynicism or isolation among staff.

This panel will explore the critical role of pastoral care and spiritual support in nurturing resilience, meaning, and belonging within the healthcare workforce. Participants will learn sustainable, compassionate approaches that help healthcare professionals process grief, reconnect with their purpose, and cultivate spiritual well-being in today’s challenging healthcare environment.

Join our panel of industry leaders on Friday, December 12, from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. for a virtual discussion focused on practical strategies, frameworks, and real-world insights to help organizations strengthen their teams' spiritual health in ways that are authentic, lasting, and aligned with the human-centered mission of healthcare.
