Surrender as Medicine: A kink-based healing framework
Overview
Surrender as Medicine is a workshop for people who are curious about the deeper, often-misunderstood intersections between kink, psychology, and healing. Instead of framing kink as pathology or trauma reenactment, this workshop looks at what the research actually shows: that sensation, structure, and power dynamics can create conditions for regulation, clarity, and emotional release. Through a nervous-system lens, kink becomes not an outlier, but a legitimate, intentional way that many people navigate intensity, embodiment, and connection.
We’ll explore the mechanics of sensation, the psychology of pain and catharsis, the emotional logic of power, and the altered states that emerge from attuned erotic play. Participants will learn how to design scenes that build capacity without pushing past limits, how to identify and navigate subspace/topspace safely, and how to use kink as a parallel, supportive process alongside therapy or personal healing work. This workshop offers a grounded, evidence-informed framework for understanding desire without shame and for approaching kink as a thoughtful, ethical, and deeply human path toward transformation.
