*Kelia Moniz

  • Hometown: Honolulu, O‘ahu

  • Claim to fame: Professional surfer, ROXY team rider and model

  • Most commonly known for: Winning two world titles…in a row!

  • Career highlights:

    • 2012 World Surf League World Longboard Championship winner

    • 2013 World Surf League World Longboard Championship winner


*Mike Coots

  • Hometown: Kilauea, Kaua‘i

  • Claim to fame: World-renowned adaptive surfer, professional photographer and shark advocate

  • Most known for: Surviving a shark attack when he was 18 in Kaua‘i, losing his right leg from mid-thigh down.

  • Career highlights:

    • 2015 inaugural International Surfing Association’s Adaptive World Surfing Championships competitor

    • 2010, Mike worked to pass legislation making it illegal to possess shark fins in Hawai’i – the first law of its kind in the US. Other states soon followed.


*Makua Rothman

  • Hometown: North Shore, O‘ahu

  • Claim to fame: Renowned big wave surfer, professional surfer, and musician

  • Most commonly known for: Winning the 2002 Billabong XXL Wave Challenge for riding a 66-foot wave at Jaws at just the age of 18

  • Career highlights:

    • 2002 Billabong XXL Big Wave Challenge winner

    • 2007 O’Neill World Cup of Surfing champion

    • 2014/2015 Big Wave World Championship winner

    • Named “No. 1 Surfer in the World” by the World Surf League in 2015

*Joel Centeio

  • Hometown: North Shore, O‘ahu

  • Claim to fame: Professional surfer, Hurley & HIC Pro Team Rider

  • Most commonly known for: Always having a big grin on his face

  • Career highlights:

    • 2009 REEF Hawaiian Pro winner

    • 2015 Local Motion Surf into Summer Pro winner

*Ross Williams

  • Hometown: North Shore, O‘ahu

  • Claim to fame: World Surf League announcer and former Pro Tour surfer

  • Most commonly known for: Coaching World Champion Surfer John John and regularly placing in the “Top 15” on the World Surf League Championship World Tour

  • Career highlights:

    • 1998 Pipeline Masters third-place winner

    • 1999 Billabong Pro runner-up

    • Appeared in films such as Momentum (1992), Loose Change (1999), and Hit and Run (2000)

    • 2001 Quicksilver in Memory of Eddie Aikau Invitational participant and fourth-place winner

    • Became John John Florence’s coach in 2017

*Bob Hurley

  • Hometown: Huntington Beach, California

  • Claim to fame: Founder and CEO of Hurley International, surfer, board shaper

  • Most known for: Bringing Billabong to the United States, starting Hurley International and being the go-to shaper for 1978 World Champion Wayne “Rabbit” Bartholomew

  • Career highlights:

    • Served as President of Billabong USA from 1983-1998

    • Launched Hurley International in 1999

*Benji Weatherley

  • Hometown: North Shore, O‘ahu and San Diego, California

  • Claim to fame: Surfer, film director, and writer

  • Most known for: Calling the now-iconic Volcom house home before it was sold and transformed and having former Blink-182 Lead Singer Tom DeLonge as a roommate while living in San Diego

  • Career highlights:

    • Wrote and directed Life as a Movie (2008), Momentum Generation (2018) and Shack Therapy (2006)

*Eli Olson

  • Hometown: North Shore, O‘ahu

  • Claim to fame: Big wave surfer, professional surfer and vlogger

  • Most commonly known for: taking one of the biggest waves of the 2018 Hawaiian surf season at Outer Log Cabins

*Keahi Tucker

  • Hometown: Waimea, Kaua‘i

  • Claim to fame: Surfer and evening news anchor of Hawaii News Now

  • Most commonly known for: heading up the anchor desk for Hawai‘i’s most-watched news channel since 2015

The Drawing -

5 lucky winners will be chosen at random by a drawing being held on June 14,2019 via live radio broadcast from Summit Media stations KRATER 96.3 (KRTR) | POWER 104.3 (KPHW) | HAWAIIAN 105 (KINE) | KCCN FM 100 (KCCN) | AM 940 (KKNE AM) | KPRP 650 AM (KPRP).

It is not necessary for winners to be listening to win. Those selected will be notified by phone or email.


The Event –

Surfing with the Stars will be held on Wednesday, June 19th at Kuhio Beach from 10 am to 1pm. Winners should show up in surf ready attire and provide their own surf boards.

Every ticket purchased will be a direct donation to support AccesSurf's life changing beach and water programs for people with disabilties. There is no limit to how many tickets an individual can purchase.
