Symposium Description:
This 2-day symposium brings together 50-60 academic researchers from SURA’s university consortium and invited guests from industry and federal agencies to explore aspects of the evolving landscape of data science research. As data continues to transform science research and development, this event will highlight emerging research challenges, new federal priorities, and strategies for building effective public- private partnerships.
Participants will gain insights into:
- Cutting-edge methodologies and applications of AI.
- New federal initiatives in data science, with a focus on efforts within the Department of Energy.
- Models for successful partnerships between academia, government, and industry that accelerate innovation and impact.
- Workforce development strategies to prepare graduate students for leadership roles in data science across sectors.
The workshop will feature keynote talks, panel discussions, and networking sessions designed to help build new relationships and lay the groundwork for future collaborations in research and workforce development among the attendees.
