This professional development series will focus on providing learning opportunities and support for paraprofessionals who serve as mentors in their respective districts. The workshops are designed to better prepare them for their roles as mentors to new paraprofessionals.
- The content of the PD is designed to help experienced paraprofessionals assist those who are new to the role, or district, in serving the students they are expected to support. This will help maximize the potential for successful outcomes for all students.
- The PD activities and content will help the paraprofessional mentors more effectively coach for and collaborate with others to implement strategies designed to meet both the social-emotional and academic needs of the children they serve.
- The intended impact is for students to grow socially, emotionally, and academically under the guidance and care of paraprofessionals who have been well prepared to meet those needs.
