About this event
- Event lasts 2 hours
Description:
We are living in increasingly polarised times and communities are facing significant challenges to manage difference. We are hearing that people are concerned about the future that lies ahead and what this means for families and communities.
In this interactive workshop, participants can share their experiences in a supportive forum, learn new skills and connect with others who share similar concerns.
Practitioners from the UK Peacebuilders Network are offering free, two hour online sessions to support people to do something constructive and find ways of building conversations to help their community have open and honest discussion.
The sessions will be run by the UK Peacebuilders Network practitioners Wahida, based in England, who has led local and national programmes of work and working with communities, focused in peace building, conflict management, and holding conversations, and Sam, based in Scotland, and has over twenty five years of experience of dialogue facilitation and conflict resolution across the United Kingdom.
Process
The workshop will be interactive, conversational and informative, designed to build practical skills that can be applied within communities by participants.
Who is the training for?
This training is for anyone involved in supporting or working with communities in any capacity.
Participants will receive handouts and can choose to stay connected by signing up for updates on future UK Peace-builders events and workshops.
How we work together:
This is a learning space, where we welcome everyone regardless of experience and expertise. We will observe the Chatham House Rule and recognise that in this space, people will come from different perspectives. We encourage you to think reflectively, and to engage in these sessions with the spirit of building understanding and learning.
