About this event
This webinar welcomes play therapists who are interested in learning how Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) can be effectively applied when working with autistic children across a range of support needs. Grounded in current research, the session explores how CCPT fosters social-emotional growth, self-expression, and connection in ways that affirm neurodiversity. Attendees will learn best practices and practical modifications within the CCPT framework to enhance therapeutic attunement and build meaningful relationships through child-directed play.
Learning Objectives:
- Participants will conceptualize autistic children’s play behaviors through the CCPT lens
- Participants will describe at least three neurodiversity-affirming strategies that align with CCPT practice
- Participants will identify research evidence supporting the use of CCPT with autistic children
