Embrace your main character moment with fellow book lovers in a sunny space filled with everything literary: bookmark making, journal decorating, journaling prompts, and yes, a lit book giveaway. The Yards will be giving out (150) of this year’s hottest summer reads each week.

Bring your pre-loved books to add to The Yards’ community library for other guests to browse and exchange, along with the fabulous finds at the Turning the Page used book sale. Silver Mirror will be popping up to offer complimentary mini facials, so join us to unwind between chapters.

Pair all that with happy hour and dinner at Yards restaurants, and you’ve got the perfect plot for a relaxed, bookish summer evening. Let your story begin as you discover the 2025 Sunday Summer Reads Series and picture the perfect page for your summer Insta story!

This year’s complimentary library is curated from top-tier recs by Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Vogue, Oprah, The New Yorker, and Publishers Weekly. For our final week, the spotlight’s on local BookTok favorites — handpicked reads selected by your favorite DC-based creators, including @taliacadet, @readwithrups, @literallycatherine_ , @Krystallotuslang, and more!

How to Join the Fun:

Reserve one of the 150 General Admission + Complimentary Book tickets to attend the event and receive a free book from The Yards’ giveaway library! Limit (1) per person – ticket required. Complimentary Book ticket holders must check in by 6:30pm to receive their book.

General Admission guests are invited to soak in the bookish vibes and participate in the additional onsite activities. A standby line will be available onsite for any remaining complimentary books after all registered GA + Complimentary Book ticketholders have had their turn browsing the shelves.
