Sunday Sessions at The Cantab Lounge

In 1957, Little Joe Cook introduced himself to the world with the hit “Peanuts.” with his band Little Joe and the Thrillers, reaching #22 on the top 100 bilboards and #4 in Canada.

From there, he settled into a residency at the Cantab Lounge from the late 1980's to 2007. After his passing in 2009, existing memebers of the band conutined his legacy in the form of a R&B jam. The house band would play some tunes, shortly before inviting memebrs of the audience to come jam! Recently on Aug 31st, 2025 the group played their last jam...

We want to contuine the legacy of the R&B jam and Little Joe Cook with: Sunday Sessions. The same format of the oringial jam, but a bit broader. While becoming more rock-centric, we welcome R&B, Pop, Hiphop, Funk, and more! If the house band knows it, come up and play it!

We also now feature bands! To apply, email us at info@thecantablounge.com. Bands recive 15-20 slots, max of 4 people and preferred uptempo!
